larryshoresDucks with Argentina Outfitters
This is an abbreviated report as I am so busy right now.
We just got back from our 8th annual trip with Argentina Outfitters where we hunted ducks. Let me give a few details:
Hunters: Larry Shores, Ryan Shores & Collen van der Linden ( yes, the PH from Zim)
Dates:July 18, 2012 to July 24, 2012
Booking agent: John Barth of Adventure Unlimited
Area: Various farms within 1 hour of the town of Florentino Ameghino
Airlines: Delta & a charter company
Guns: Benelli Super Black Eagle II
Shells: RD #5's which I would categorize as light loads.
Species of ducks taken: Rosy bill pochards, white cheeked pintails, brown pintails, speckled teal, cinnamon teal, ringed teal, silver teal, red shoveler, white faced whistling duck, black bellied whistling duck and Chilean widgeon.
Accommodations: We stayed at an estancia known as La Chancra. It is a massive old house and very Bavarian. I strongly suspect past Nazi involvement.
We killed a lot of ducks. Personally, I shot 732 in 6 days.
Argentina Outfitters is a great company. They are nice guys, honest and hard working.
It is a fantastic hunt. Lots of birds. Lots of shooting. Lots of food. Lots of fun. I am going back next year. I guess that says it all.
Below are a few pictures:
My favorite picture of the entire trip.

I will post more later plus a separate report on the fantastic dove hunting at Los Chanares.

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......
"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
