vapodogWhere are the snow geese?
I haven't seen but a dozen or so locally. Normally I've seen several flocks of hundreds and occasionally thousands here.....even get a few too!

Seems they have decided to not fly this direction or something.

L. David KeithThe east coast Greaters (all white phase, no blue phase) are moving north as far as the thaw allows. Same for Lessers (white and blue phase). Lots of Lessers wintered in AR, but each day they move northward, some stopping to feed and stage. I spoke with a guide who was chasing them in S. MO a week ago and they had plenty to work on. You have to keep up with Snow's...there ain't no flies on those birds. Nice pics Rich, thanks.

collectorWow great pics...great job.
Chasing Snow Geese for spring conservation season is a labor of love...timing of migration is everything. I saw tens of thousands migrate through northern chesapeake bay 2 weeks ago...all Greater Snow Geese.

merganser1We saw very few in South Arkansas this year. Still plenty were in the Stuttgart area. But overall the state fewer were seen. Maybe the spring conservation season is working. Merg

Hard to see but my guess is that they are blues....snows and blues are the same bird but the blue goose is a color variant.
I've seen flocks of snows and blues that are roughly 50-50
