What, no pictures????

We hit a farm yesterday here in AZ that we have permission to hunt. They recently cut the wheat on it and the birds were thick!

I was RUSTY but still took a limit (with WAY more hulls than birds at the end!).

Not as many whitewings this season here for some odd reason. Previous years it was more WW than mourning.. This yr is was opposite.

I enjoyed the best opening day of dove season in many years. Opening morning limit was taken in 30 minutes. Shot the first 7 with my 12 gauge and the next 8 with my SxS .410 Grulla. I followed this morning with another limit in less than 15 minutes. We are off to a great start!

We shot 410's on opening day, pattern is about 5-6 inches across at close range by the mojo, hit a few long crossing eurasian's, tough with a 1/2 of shot

Just wondering, at what distance was the pattern 5-6" across? Bob Brister, in his book, "Shotgunning, the Art and the Science," proved that a .410 pattern was wider than a 12 gauge pattern at the same distance; the reason being that the .410 deforms more shot, thus scattering it wider; however, even though the pattern is wider that a 12 gauge, it is much less dense and not as affective as the 12 gauge.
