Have any of you guys ever hunted rail in the northeast by walking them up in costal marshes?Granted sora and virginia rails are not much of a mouthfull,but it gets you out in the marsh around the first of sept.Ive done it for 40 yrs.one fine day years ago i shot my limit of 25.Frank

Never hunted rail, but have taken snipe in that fashion. Unfortunately the areas available for that pursuit have evaporated for the most part in Florida. I've not experienced wingshooting as challenging as mid to late season snipe. My best day occurred some 20 years back, 11 for 13. It been downhill since.
