Time to say thanks.....
Please join me in welcoming and thanking for his service Luke Weinandt, a United States Army decorated combat Veteran from the Iraq war. Not only a true American hero but one hell of a nice guy as well. He called me on short notice to escape the inlaws locally over Thanksgiving and we were able to include him with my repeat clients Larry and his nephew Adam the past few days. I had no idea of Lukes service when he booked me to hunt. During the first day I asked about him joining us on the second day and his response was that "Gee I'd love to but just don't have the finances". My immediate thought was well bull**** on that, you're coming along but I didn't say anything. As a further testament to Larry's good character he immediately took me aside when we got back to the ramp after the first morning and quietly offered to pay for Luke for a second day. I already told him I was inviting him anyway and there was no need for him to pay and that's just what we did. Very glad to have Luke along and in our tiny way pay a little back to all he's done for us.

The way I see it, there were at least 4 awesome people on that boat - Luke, for serving our country and being a great guy, Larry, for offering to pay Luke's second day, Adam, for being the nephew of Larry who's a great guy, and YOU, Jack, for comping him the second day! Great job Jack! And I'm drooling over that old squaw and those brant.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
