Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

strapmanI was recently PG hunting in Namibia and I did not see a large volume of birds, but many were beautiful. What country were these shot in?

collectorBirds can be tricky to pin down in a specific area as some are migratory and move around quite a bit depending on time of the year. If you were in Namibia then you probably could have hunted different species of Sandgrouse.

NakihunterThat was awesome. Do you have the various sandgrouse species?

4) Spotted Sandgrouse
5) Black-bellied Sandgrouse
6) Crowned Sandgrouse
7) Yellow-throated Sandgrouse
8) Burchell's Sandgrouse
9) Masked Sandgrouse
10) Black-faced Sandgrouse
11) Lichtenstein's Sandgrouse
12) Double-banded Sandgrouse
13) Painted Sandgrouse

16) Pallas's Sandgrouse
I have been very fortunate to have hunted various sandgrouse species both in Asia as well as in Africa.
Some sandgrouse pics I took in the wild.

NakihunterThanks for the pics. The last one looks a bit like the common sand grouse we get in South India. They were less mottled and had a collar & a bib if I remember correctly. I remember my dad shooting them in 1967!!! I was just a kid then.
