Took me a decade, but finally got a prime bird. Hope he makes the cut (forgive the pun). Had to endure a circus-like morning hunting a new spot at dead low tide with a buddy, but it was worth it. Took a couple pics for posterity's sake. Talked to a biologist out there who was netting and banding eider for the feds. Cool guy, and a hunter as well. Props to those that further the birds and their habitat. Nice meeting you, and keep up the good work, Lucas. ______________________ Hunting: I'd kill to participate.

KG, congrats on your Oldsquaw, er, I mean Long-Tailed Duck got one myself a few years back here in the SF Bay, one of (2) I've seen here in almost 30 years of duck hunting... it's sitting on top of my plan drawers here in my office. great looking bird, although not totally prime like yours... Your posts/pics are always entertaining, keep it up... Regards, Craig Nolan Best Regards, Craig Nolan

Congrats on the tail.......a buddy shot one recently and put it in a ziploc bag while it was wide awake and spewing blood......not a pretty sight by the time we made it back to the beach....er, launch. It looked like a pink flamingo or some such.....but he needs one of those too.
