I have always wanted to do a flooded timber hunt in Stuttgart, Arkansas. I am hoping to do this hunt this coming fall. Anybody have a recommendation for a guide? One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got into my pajamas I'll never know. - Groucho Marx

I can tell you one to definitely NOT use....Jay Cranford of Delta Duck Hunters. A friend just had a nightmare with his outfit. Look around and you'll find myriad similar reports.

You will not go wrong with Habitat Flats. I think that Tony has a lease near Bayou Meto. I use to hunt with Jim Rehnquist but he stopped guiding about six years ago. Look through the guides listed on the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce. If I remember correctly, they do not let just anyone advertise on their site. Another group that I recommend is Roberson Guide Service. They have private property on the west side of the Mississippi in TN. I also like hunting Bayou De View near Jonesboro. That is a good place if you want to hunt on your own a few days. If you do freelance, be mindful of the space you give other hunters. There are some Proper Rednecks in Ark. that are looking to fight anyone that is not from Razorback country. I have been a waterfowl outfitter for 23 years and hunted throughout Arkansas. If you catch it right it can be a real show. Be mindful of the guides from out of town that do not own or lease any of their own land. Many of those guys burn through clients. Do not be surprised if you have a day with no shooting. Birds move in and out of those areas. If there is a drought you are better off cancelling your hunt. Hunting flooded green tree reservoir in the Southern US is by far my most favorite and I have hunted ducks on four different continents.

Thanks Cpt. Purvis....that's about as good info as one could ask for. I just checked out your site....if you can offer a decent chance at some cans I'd be interested in booking something for next season.

Cans winter here but temperature needs to drop to get them to move. We have a good amount of Mallards, wood ducks, black ducks, pintails, widgeon, gadwalls teal, Red Heads, Greater and Lesser, Swans, Brant and Canada Geese.
