bwanamrmSuperb photos! But that sure doesn't look like Texas quail country or Kansas pheasant cover!

I plan on hunting grouse and woodcock next year with Libby Camps in Maine. Can't wait for the experience.
On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

AtticusThanks all,
Bwana, I have hunted the area near Libby's often and you will get into birds there. That part of Aroostook county has lots of room to roam around and the forest practice up there lends itself to great Pa'tridge numbers.

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......
"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

twilliAwesome pics! Sure miss hunting the timberdoodles in the Fall in the old orchards and the smell of the MAples. Now my Gordon and I chase Huns and Sharptails. What kind of Side by Side do you shoot? I have a nice Parker 20 bore that does a good job when I'm on.

AtticusThanks Mike,
It has been a great winter for keeping the dogs in shape. Should be good for the birds too.
Soon the Woodcock will return and begin dancing int the sunset sky and it starts all over again.

AtticusOnly 100 days until the opener in the Northern New England states.
There is still plenty of fishing, gardening and yard work to do so I am not wishing away the summer. However these last few days of near 100 degree temps has me thinking of Vermont in October and the Berkshires in November.
