For those of you in the Northern Hemisphere your seasons are (or have)coming to an end. In Africa our Bird Shooting season is about to begin. I have never done much pre season clay pigeon or skeet shooting but now that i have the time and finances to do so i am keen to improve my skills on the range and specifically translate that into being a better shot in the field.

What kind of pre season shooting preparation do you do and what can i do to improve my shooting skills in the field?

Sporting Clays would be my first choice as the variety of shot presentations.
Trap or Skeet if that's all you have access to would help too.
