WesCosta Rica Dove Hunting??
Does anyone know if there is dove hunting in Costa Rica? If so who is booking hunts?
I am in the insurace business and I have a client that wants to hunt there. I have been to the Dallas Show many times and have never come across anyone booking hunts in Costa Rica.

I dove hunted there years ago. I used Trek. I have no idea if they're still hunting there, but you could start by checking with them. Nice country and I enjoyed it but the dove hunting was really pretty marginal for something you're going to fly out for, pay for, etc. There are much better places for the same money IMO.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

That is the same thing I told him, he needs to go somewhere like Argentina or at least somewhere that is worth his time and money!!
Do have any contact info or website for Trek?

Gatogordo Trek SafarisBTW I am considering going to Bolivia dove hunting in the near future, probably not as good as Argentina or Uruguay but closer and I haven't been there. BUT if he really wants to shoot doves, Argentina is impossible to beat.

Certainly possible, as a wise and knowledgeable local put it over a few beers in San Jose, "The National sport of Costa Rica is f**king." I'm not sure if they use stadia or not.

jdollarjust got back from a week of tarpon fishing there. it was my third trip there in the last 2 years. have covered a lot of the country from the east to the west coast and seen very few doves. don' bother to go for that reason. however the fishing on both coasts is world class and the " National Sport of Costa Rica" as practiced at the Hotel Del Rey in San Jose is beyond world class( and very cheap by U.S. standards.

I have been to Costa Rica twice in the last year; went all over sight seeing and ended up fishing as Los Suenos(Pacific side). Great fishing. I didn't see a shootable population of doves. I have also been to Honduras, Colombia, Uruguay, and Argentina mostly with Trek. Shooting in Argentina and Uruguay is world class. I am hearing good things about the shooting in Bolivia.

Gun toterGuys,
I know a fella that went to Coast Rica for his honeymoon. He set up a fishing trip with his new bride. It was a wonderful time.
Apparently he also had another room booked with a revolving door! And as i was told it was on the floor below and the same room number!
Got to love Del Rey.
And Ray, do tell of Argentina via PM.....
