Patricio Gaudiano.410 duck smackdown

L. David KeithYour killin' me Patricio. I'm at home because the geese have left AR and gone into central MO. If you can make the Bear hunt this year, I want some advice on the better duck areas in Mexico. I'm always looking for the hot spots. Cheers, David

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......
"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Patricio Gaudianoyea fairly close, you just have to be carefull of what shots you take so you dont end up wounding a bunch ....
I kept a 12 gauge handy to shoot cripples on the water.... had to put insurance shots into 3 or 4 ......

drewhenrytntI have had 2 .410 bore shotguns both choked ridiculously extra tight. Even when fitted with Briley tubes I never was able to achieve much. My hat is definitely off to those able to utilize them. I imagine it makes for a lot more fun when shooting high volumes. You appear to have some sort of adapters in your shotgun. Are those chamber inserts, full length tubes, or have my eyes deceived me?

Full lenght tubes made by briley, from way back when I used to shoot competitive skeet..... It makes it nice down here in mexico because it only counts as one gun, not 4 on your gun permit...
I was using modified and skeet, although modified and full would work better but I didnt have any other chockes, I hadnt used the gun in a while...
.410 is defininitively not a beginers gun, and will humble you, no matter how good of a shot you are.

Ruddies aren't my favorite diver to eat, but with the right red wine reduction, or bacon, they're just fine. I think of them as slightly tough, and moderately gamey.

Heym SR20I have taken to using a 410 side by side for most of my shooting. Ok I don't have quite the range of my 12 and its harder to hit with, but to date pigeons, pheasants and mallard have all dropped just as cleanly as if hit with the 12. And the best bit is that you are not laden down with cartridge bags etc - a 5lb gun and pocket full of cartridges is more than enough for a days rough shooting.
