We made our first trip up to the mountains today in search of Blue grouse. We didn't see any birds but did see a lot of elk or moose signs.

She locked on point within a few minutes of cutting her loose, unfortunately nothing turned up but the intensity of her point makes me believe something was there shortly before we got there.

Even without turning any birds up, it was better than spending a day in the office.

Moose tracks everywhere, I wish I had a tag!

I'm hoping to get out again on Sunday to put a few blues in the bag, so we can focus on sharptail and sage in the following weeks.

Thanks, we're heading out again in the morning and plan to drop about 1000' lower in elevation to see if that makes a difference. Hopefully I'll have some bird contact!
