This morning my 14 year old daughter shot her 1st turkey clap A 14 1/2 lb jake. I was much more excited then when I shot my first bird! We were with a neighbor and his son. The bird came into some thick stuff behind us where we couldn't see it till it started putting. I saw it's head as it started down the hill but couldn't see the beard till it was about 20 yards away.

This was Ohio's "Youth Turkey Hunt" it was nice not as many other hunters in the woods as there would be in the regular season.

BTW she used a Ithaca 37 with a turkey barrel. 12 guage 2 3/4" #6 Heavy shot Remington. It patterned very tight and the recoil was tolerable for her.

Congratulations Sam, and I applaud you spending time in the woods with your daughter. That is time well spent and money in the bank.
