I shoot a 40 year old double barrel 12 - Charles Daly, made in Italy by somebody - and will shortly go goose and pheasant hunting. Any thoughts on using Hevi-shot or Kent Tungsten Matrix shotshells? Choked full & full, by the way, 30 inch barrels, 3 inch chambers. I miss lead shot !!

I would not shoot Hevi-shot thru it - it is a very hard shot, and would undoubtedly cuse your barrel to bulge. Kent's tungsten matrix is almost as malleable as lead, so you will not go wrong with that. Failing that Bismuth is your only real option. Never use a cat's arse to hold a tea-towel.

HT I gree with IP on the Hevi Shot. I've found Bismuth at high pressures has a tendancy to shatter. Kent tungsten Matrix is a great shell and will kill like lead did. Just step up the wieght a little to 32gram #5's for pheasant and 3's for the geese. Good luck on the hunt FB
