Does anyone know someone regularly making a 375 Winchester? Just curious at the moment. Be Well, Packy.

Cartridges like the 375 Winchester and the 444 marlin Have a second lease on life with the new monolithic bullets. One that comes to mind is the 375 cal. 175 grain Maximus, Cutting Edge Bullet. IHMSA BC Provincial Champion and Perfect 40 Score, Unlimited Category, AAA Class.

Starline recently did a run of 375 WIN brass - I just bought 100 pieces from MidwayUSA :-) "At least once every human being should have to run for his life - to teach him that milk does not come from the supermarket, that safety does not come from policemen, and that news is not something that happens to other people." - Robert Heinlein

I don't know about an Encore, but Freedom Arms chambers their Model 2008 in 375 Winchester. It took them about 3 months to make this one for me. Tony Rumore Tromix

I have been obsessing about the .375 Win lately. It is kind of a forgotten ho-hum cartridge. But like the 444 marlin you can turn it into a dragon slayer with a CEB bullet. ( Maybe a TSX bullet too?) For example, consider the 175 grain CEB raptor at 2,700fps or the 220 grain CEB Raptor at 2,400fps. This takes it up into the African lion killing category. No laughing, please. I have yet to post my results to B&M but I've been playing with the 175gr Maximus in a Valmet 412S(O/U 375Win). Caseful of RL7. Recently got a few boxes of the 220gr Solids to try too. We Band of Bubbas N.R.A Life Member TDR Cummins Power All The Way Certified member of the Whompers Club

Packrat, might want to think about a .375/.284. I have 2 XP-100s in it. A little more power than the .375. I've taken a lot of game with mine-eland, waterbuck, hippo (at 129 yds. with a Horn. DGS), 5 WV black bears, dozens of WV crop damage deer out to 350 yds., and groundhogs out to 400 yds. There a a few very good bullets- 260 gr. NAB, 235 gr. Barnes X, 250 gr. NBT, 220 gr. Horn FP (leopard), 225 gr. Horn. SP (wildebeest). And there is one great bullet- Lehigh Defense 250 gr. Chaos. I'm a bullet tester for Lehigh and have taken a great deal of deer with it. Last year I took a 220# black bear at 144 yds. DOA. Had pedals from the bullet in lung, spine, intestines. The base was a double shoulder shot. One awesome bullet. Larry Rogers

I have four factory 375 Win barrels for my contenders. It is definitely better suited for the Encore as its pretty easy to stretch a contender frame with the 375 Win. If your stuck in a straight wall case state for deer it really shines compared to the 357 max. If your considering bigger game than white tails Docs advice on the 375=284 is sound.
