hey there. just smoked my new toy yesterday...what a treat. the thing is more accurate then i am for sure. shot 320 t/c lubed with bore butter, ahead of 60 gr [ 2 30 gr pellets] sparked with fed 209's. this will clover as many holes as you want to shoot at 50 yds. then i switched up to 90 gr [ 3 - 30 gr pellets] and fired away with the same result as the 60 gr load. just a little crisper but the same impact zero. should be a hunter for sure.

has anybody fooled around with the r/b's in this rifle or is the twist too fast for them? i plan to try em but wanted input as to somebody elses involvment with the encore and r/b

I'd expect the muzzle recess to facilitate loading sabots might cause some loading difficulty with patched ball. Lots of folks have commented it hurts with things like paper-patched conicals.

If you can load a patched ball successfully with the TC muzzle configuration, I'd expect you'd be limited to lower power loads--like 40 grains or less. Remember, you have a 1X28 twist in that standard barrel.

It would be a fun small game load, and 30-40 grains from a 50 cal 170 grain ball should do a number on a squirrel.

Let us know what you discover.

this is my first experience with the pyro pellets. seems like they crush when i load and put preassure on the loading rod. had a problem getting the preassure the same with all loads. any thoughts?

also shot a few balls and didnt see any consistancy with the pellets so next time ill take pyro select and some r/s and experiment with them. maybe the trick is the lower doses for the twist. more news later.

here is the results i got with rb. nada! couldnt get em to group worth spit. but then i went back to the load that put the smile on my face. wouldnt shoot for spit either. now i scrub my head and set to ponder fer awhile. then shot some more...still nuttin. what the heck i wonder. squeeky clean and still no groups. will just barely hit the 10 inch gong i built years ago at 100 yds.

after more shooting and pondering i realize that the only thing i changed was the stock. i changed out the wood stock with the new black and blue stock for and aft. the one with the rubber recoil tecknology. fine looking but this is the only thing i changed. cant think this could possibly be the culpret as the forstock is mounted with two screws to the barrel same as the wood. how could this ruin accuracy?

hum any thought or experience???
