Gentlemen,

I've been toying around w/ my older T/C Encore to shoot a heavier/stouter bullet mainly for raking shots on good sized blackbear. In the process I've become interested in using the Barnes Original 300SSP w/ N120 in a Savage for use as a dedicated bear muzzleloader.

Today I checked for availability and pricing on the bullet w/ a local Barnes dealer and was told they could not be ordered. I did an internet search and checked the Barnes site which also indicated that they were not available. Are they discontinued???

Thanks,
GVA

No, not at all. However, several years of estimated inventory sold out in a month or so.

Barnes has scheduled new runs of all their originals for early 2007.

Gary I am considering selling my Savage and getting a contender. It is new last year and doesn't have a lot of bullets downrange. SS and camo. Are you interested? PM me. "D"

Although cartridge selection is important there is nothing that will substitute for proper first shot placement. Good hunting, "D"

"D",

Thanks for the offer but I'm getting two at cost which is fairly cheap. I'd rather start off w/ the Savage new out of the box.

Thanks Anyway,
GVA
