Fired up the ML today (CVA 50cal Staghorn). Did not have big expectations for velocity, but got less than I estimated. With 100gr APP and 350FPB I got 1195fps mv on my chrony. I think 100gr powder is max, but I will recheck with CVA anyways. Anybody expect/experience different velocities. I know ML kill with big deep holes a bit differently than the high energy of high-power/velocity centerfires. I can shoot sub 3" @ 100yrds, and would expect the open sights to still be effective @ 150yrds. With the velocities I am getting, what would be the effective killing range through the shoulders of a 500lb Cow Elk?
