I am trying out some diffent guys ML, so I can make a decison about buying one. Sorry for these dumb questions, but I am brand new to ML.

The Omega that I shot today, the guy gave me triple 7 powder to shoot with some powerbelt 245 gr. bullets. I was shooting 100 grains. Is there any other loads to try or powder for that matter? What is this 777 fff powder? Should that be tried? Snould I go up to 130 gr. of powder or 150 gr.of powder?

I also didn't like the fact that the primer was getting stuck after shooting the round in the breech plug. Is this normal? The knight I also shot was different and didn't have this problem.

I know these are basic, ignorant questions, but I got to start somewhere. Thanks in advance.

Tripple Seven fffg is a finer granulation powder than Tripple Seven ffg. Usually it shoots a little cleaner and has more power per volume than ffg. I would not recommend anything over 110gr. of fffg Tripple Seven. Personally in my Omega I do not shoot Tripple Seven as it is a crud maker and forms a hard crud ring just above the powder load area in the barrel making the second shot impossible to load down enough to set on the powder which is a dangerous condition. Bullet must be seated on the powder without an air gap between or pressures are way out of the design limits. My Omega does not stick the primers but I have been using Winchester standard 209 primers and CCI primers. The sticking primer may be the specific brand or may be because of the 777 powder. I suggest using American Pioneer, Goex Pinnacle or my favorite Black Mag'3 for powder if you decide on the Omega. Personally I own three rifles and if I was only going to have one I would buy the Omega again. If you do not mind the powder being a little dirty and requiring a swab or two between shots Pyrodex or real Goex Black Powder will work just fine in the Omega.
