I have a night disc extream and have not shot it in a while was thinking of using .452 cast hand gun bullets sized and lubed in it to just go to the range and have some fun it has a 1-28" twist and would beusing 777 FFFG powder most likly 75-85grs just to plink with.. Anyone do this ?? Was also thinking of using Cast performace 300gr Hard cast with 85-90gr powder for deer hunting in the thiker brush...

The handgun projectiles will work just fine for plinking, but remember that the rifle is designed to shoot pretty much pure lead. I have shot 1:20 in some of my Whites with fair results, but that is just about as hard as I would recommend. And I seriously think the Cast Performance will be too hard for any decent accuracy, but I could be wrong.

If a hardcast bullet is a proper fit for the bore of the rifle you're shooting it in, I'm pretty sure it would be darn near impossible to load anyway. The rifling cuts the bullet on the way in too.

I don't want to sound like a wimp here, but for plinking loads I believe that "less is more". It is easy to forget that the US govt chose the 45-70 for their main combat cartridge at one time, which is 45 cal and -70- grains of BP. For plinking one can go under this number quite a bit and certainly does not need to go over (unless there is a primal need for the bigger roar!). However, 30 grains can be pleasant and for shooting closer 10 grains for a target 50 feet away can be fun too. In regards to hard cast bullets, just see what you can get to load into the muzzle, as coming out will be a lot easier than going in so if you can get it to do that the shooting part should be no issue. for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside
