Thanks for all the info,

Right now, I'm leaning towards the Omega. I really like the laminated stock, but in general I buy blued guns. We'll see. The Traditions Pursuit Pro was the other one I was looking at; looks like a good deal. I worry a little about the primer flipping out when I close the gun. Also, all my other break open single shots have eventually gotten shot loose.

If you are going inline then get the savage, why bother with the corrosion and mess of non-smokeless powder when using an inline,, the savage can also uas blackpowder or any other powder for that matter if it is a legal or moral issue.

The savage is a great gun I have had one for 2 years and have no fault with it.

I'm w/ PPosey on this one. My Savage will put three 250 SSTs into one ragged hole @ 100 yards and it only drops 3-4" @ 200. Load: 44 grains of IMR 4759 @ around 2400 fps.

Good Luck!

sk1,

I could not find any of the Pre-Accu-trigger version rifles. Everywhere I looked was sold out. They are all selling the new Accu-trigger versions and they want 100 more than the older ones.

I found the Blued Synthetic version for $421, $427, and $432. These were all equiped w/ fiber optic sights and had the Accu-trigger.

I did find one Stainless/Synthetic Accu-Trigger version for $420 which, I believe is a steal. It may cost alittle more than last years models but, at least it comes w/ a great trigger.

If you are intrested in the above MLs, shoot me a pm.

Good Luck!

I was thinking about the Savage, too. But they're kind of expensive and they have a bolt on the wrong side for me. On the other hand, I've got lots of RH bolt guns.

What's the least expensive place to buy one? Have they changed out the replaceable vent liner breech plug system with a solid breech plug?

sk1,

Let me do some checking and I will let you know some prices.

Dustin Brass was selling them @ around 320 (SYN & Blued). It was early this year on the pre-accutrigger version.

I just rigged one out for a relative that I purchased from Mid-South Shooters Supply on a close-out deal but, I don't think they have any more ( it was the pre-accutrigger version).

I believe one can be had for less than an Omega.

As to the bolt be on the wrong side, the one I just rigged out was for a lefty. After all, you only get one shot w/ the thing.

Good Luck!
