I got a chance to smack one w/ my ML10II on Monday Morning when I grunted a 9pt in at 60 yards. He was facing straight on. I waited for a bit but he had me pegged and wouldn't move so I went ahead and busted him in the center of the chest. My ML10 was loaded (Below Zero) in Iowa 3 weeks ago, decapped, brought home, and placed in the safe. I primed it and went hunting Monday morning. She fired w/o hesitation and hit right on the mark. This along w/ me firing it at below zero while in Iowa has made me very confident of the reliability of SR4759. I'm using 44 grains under a bare saboted 250 SST. To the Bullet performance..... The bullet was probably in the 2200-2300 fps range when it impacted. It went through the base of the neck, busted through the chest, and made a hole about the size of a half dollar through the center of his heart. Shrapnel got the lungs as well. I did not recover the bullet but it did not exit nor did it make it to the guts. I didn't spend any time looking for it but, I believe it must have been in w/ the clots of blood in his chest cavity when I field dressed him. Needless to say he dropped on the spot. I don't have any pictures to show but, just to give an Idea he was 14" inside and had pretty short points w/ a 1 inch kicker on one base. Good Luck Reloader | ||
