My buddy just bought a thumbhole Omega .50. Just wondering whats shooting good.Heard a few guys say that they dont care for triple 7 but not much on bullet types. He seems to be having good results with the Barnes TMZ's. But wants to know whats workin' for others thanx.

I have the Omega thumbhole stainless just as your buddy. Love that gun! I also love triple 7 powder which consistently in chrono tests provided significan higher velocities with the same weight of other powders and was allot easier to clean. My pet load is 120 grains of loose T7 with 250 grain Barnes MZ expander. Shoots sub-moa all day long. I alos have an Encore that loves this load also. I have not chrono'd the Omega but my enocre shoots this load at 2216fps with barely any deviation from shot to shot. I believe the Omega is shooting slighly faster but have not actually chron'd it to know for sure.

I use 777 in my Omega with nothing but great results.
"My load"...
80gr. of 777 fffg
Precision Rifle 235gr Sabot (got 'em at Cabela's)
I swab with T/C #13 between shots (at the range)

I'm getting 1.5" groups at 100 yards off the bench with a scope.

Measured velocity 50 yards downrange is 1,750 f.p.s.

Hope this helps.

Oh, this load is close to the felt recoil of a low-end .243.

Two 50 gr pellets of 777 and 245 or 295 gr power belts shoot about 1.5" for me. Killing machine
