Never tried the clear shot, been using 777, works great. An alternative to the 209 and #11 ignition is the musket cap if that is available for your rifle. I'm using them in my black diamond but I use the flangeless type, lots of fire but easy to weather proof with a little piece of surgical tubing. RWS Flangeless musket caps are available for $2.50 a hundred at D&R Sports. No hazmat fee for shipping primers, either. http://www.dnrsports.net/miva/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=DSC&Product_Code=RWS2105225

I've used Clear shot for about 4 years now. While trying to sight my rifle in for this years hunt I bought a new bottle of it in powder form. From the start the rifle started shooting all over the place and I was just plain going nuts to figure out what was up since it has been very accurate with the same load for the last few years. Finally I picked up my sabots and took a real good look at them instead of just trash canning them. I was shocked to see unburnt powder in the cup. Now my brother had problems with Clear shot in the pellets doing that but I never had the problem till this new bach. I have switched triple 7 and every thing is hunky dory again. I shoot a Remington 700ML/SS in 54 cal. I use the Number 11 caps. Thought about switching to the 209 and heard about the poor fit so never did. A friend just switched his over to the 209 using a Cablas kit and it appears weather tight to me. Really just wanted to let people know about the Clear shot though. Al
