Well if thats the theory, then I guess that shooting an elk or deer with an arrow with a field tip ok? I mean it'll pass right through and be accurate.Right!

Doesn't anybody shoot barnes bullets on this sight? I shoot a barnes out of my .300wthby,.338ultramag,, .257wthby and my .375. So i'm shooting them out of my encore. Their new bullet design hase a smaller nose and a boattail. I haven't droped one into an animal yet, but I will in Feb in Texas and i'm positive that it will be devestating!!! I had a few friends shoot elk with the powerbelt and they got complete pass throughs but no expansion. The barnes will EXPAND!
Thanks for all of yalls input, keep it coming!

I've used the Barnes bullets for years in my muzzleloader. I think they are Knight branded and called 'red hot' bullets.

I use 3 pyrodex pellets and the 180 bullet. Puts a big big hole in deer out to 188 yards.

Now figure this out: I'm 3" high at 100 yards, and 5" high at 200! I never would have thought the bullet would still be climbing from a muzzleloader.???

That's impressive Doc, but hard to understand when compared to Knight's ballistic chart. They also don't show a 180gr Red Hot, only 175 and 195. They show a 180gr but it is a lead bullet, not a Red Hot. ????

Think again...you want to compare a 5/16" diameter, 250fps arrow to a 1500fps, 1/2" bullet!

When I get home tonight, I'll look at what they are for sure. Gun season opened today in Ohio and I'm using muzzleloader tomorrow.

Well, I buy them at Bass Pro here in Cincinnati. They are definitely barnes bullets and I thought they were labeled as Knight Red Hot bullets. They are the copper bullets in .50 cal with the SMALLER hollow point. I have 180, 200, and 220's.

All shoot good with 2 pellets of Pyrodex, but the 180's shoot exceptional with 3.

I missed a buck about 2 years ago at 197 yards. I was stupid and aimed over his back thinking the bullet would drop into him. I shot over him.

The guy at the range was just as puzzled as I was when I checked it the next day.
