I used my Knight 45 cal disc elite with a 4X Nikon Monarch to take this doe at just over 75 yds yesterday.
I was shooting 150 grns loose 777 topped off with a Hornady 200 grn. SST.

Nothing like a nice doe to make tasty venison for the freezer. Congratulations.

congrats on the doe.

150gr of 777?

I'm only shootin 70gr in my 50cal Knight Tbolt, pushing a 460gr NE slug.

Am I loading too light?

Nope, you have plenty of power.Ya dont need a bunch of powder to kill a deer.If the load you shoots well in your gun, then,it will be the load to hunt with.Ya cant kill anything if you cant hit it where you have to to make a clean kill.Dubble that if your in heavy woods and your shots are close.
I agree that at first glance Ted may be shooting a lot of powder, but,if hes hunting in open plains, and most shots are in the 200yds ball park, and if his gun, with that load shoots well, then it make sense.pan.

Welcome to AR Phil, you got it spot on. I was hunting a field and a 200 yrd shot was not out of the question in that location. The 200 grn bullets and max load shoot very good from my rifle.
