The pedersoli flint locks can be troublesome and parts are very expensive. A replacement lock will be $130 or more compared to a better US made lock of $75-90. Individual parts like frizzens, springs and tumbers are comparatively priced. Their frizzens generally need to be redone with casenite and will need refinishing more often than not. They're nicely built and great handling, but If I were in the market for a new flinter, it would be one of the semi customs for more money, but a nicer rifle and more fun to shoot in the long run. One nice thing about buying from Cabela's is their no questions asked return policy. You can try the Blue Ridge rifle out and if you don't feel it's a good shooter for you, return it and you'll only be out the shipping. Flintlock rifles can be real tempermental if you don't have a good lock and can make or break a new shooter from the get go. Good luck!
