I am still looking at muzzle loaders. I see Midway has the Remington Genisis on sale for $159. Anyone have any opinions about them, good or bad?

I don't know your budget, but you get what you pay for. If you can go $350 plus $30 shipping, there is a White Whitetail on Gunbroker right now with a buy it price of $350, or at least it was there yesterday. Rifle is stainless, synthetic stock, and has a Leupold 2X7 sitting on it. That is $200 worth of glass, as I see it.

I have several Whites, and that one is a buy. If you don't want it, I may have a .504 I will peddle for around $250 plus shipping, but it will be bare.

Unfortunetly my budget is real thin right now. I have access to my fathers in line but they don't make a 209 conversion for it and I would have to shoot just black powder in it.

That is not a problem, we have plenty of powder and the gun shoots good. I just wanted a reason to buy a new one but I am on a budget. I would say $200 would be the most I could spend right now. Things may improve later.

I was just curious about the remingtons because I know their 700ML was a pretty good one.

I have a genesis and I love it. Bought one upon getting back from Iraq just to get back into muzzleloading. It shoots just about every sabot i have tried really well. The two best loads I have used are 250gr shockwaves with 100gr 777- 1.5" 5 shot groups at 100yds, and 300gr hornady sst's with 120gr 777 for 1.5-2" groups at 100. Dont believe all the "you get what you pay for" hype out there. I really like this rifle- lots of bang for the buck. It is now my favorite gun in my safe.

I can't find the Genesis for that price at Midway. The lowest price I can find at Midway is $249. I'd be interested in one for $159.

Everything I say is fully substantiated by my own opinion.

It was in the clearance section unless they sold out.

A blue / synthetic Omega by TC is a fantastic gun. A little more than your price range, but damn fine for their price
