How ya doin GLC.

I own 2 H&R Muzzys. Man I love those guns. I just instald a hammer thumb grip & new trigger system on my dads H&R .45 cal. If you have the action open & drive that nasty POS telescopic ramrod down the pipe, it will easily pop out the breach. After you remove the breach, you can load it with a 45/70 gov't catridge. It only takes just a little bit under 1 min. to change from a muzzy to a centerfire.

Awesome guns, & cool to shoot.

If one were to have a 45-70 bbl fitted to their receiver, could a breechplug be made up and fitted to convert a new 45-70 bbl to .45 cal muzzle loader?

cggunner.

Sure you can. You deffenetly want to start with a 45/70 bbl.,& action, because a .45 cal. black powder bbl. can't withstand the pressures generated from a moderen 45/70 govt. load.

When I get some free time, I will take some pics. of the breech, in & out of the chamber. It may be easier to show you what I am talking about, then it would be to explain.
