MacD37Need a .58 cal bullet mold
I realize this is a dumb request to those more in touch with the muzzle loading comunity today, but there are those here that have done a lot of muzzleloading in the past, and my have the mold I need, or know where I might buy one! This is for a Pedersoli .58 cal Kidiak double rifle muzzle loader! 1 in 48" twist!
I haven't done any muzzleloading since the early 60s, and am out of touch! I want (NEED)a hollow based .58 cal bullet mold! It seems Lyman has discontinued this particular mold!
E-mail me DUGABOY1@aol.com
Dixie lists a Lyman mould, #CAO508 which is a 566 grain designed especially for a 1-48" twist. $61.25 and you need to have a set of large handles too. I think the lyman # is 575213PH
Hope that helps!
Just looked and there are 4 58 caliber minie moulds on ebay right now. search 58 bullet mold.
The one for $25 seems to be a Rapine, which is about a $80 mold.
Also just looked at Midway, they have the above mentioned Lyman mold for $44. And a few others.

Jeffe, thanks for the offer, but I just got off the phone with Dixie Gun Works and ordered a mould, and handles for a 566 gr hollowbase that was designed for the 1-48" twist! Is that a .58 Kodiak? If so, and those bullets work good in your rifle, I'd like to have the address for them, and your load behind them!
I dug back in my file cabinet, from the late 80s and found the origenal paper work for my old Kodiak .58, and the load seems a little low! It is only 75 grs FFG, behind a 560 gr hollowbase mini. If I remember right it regulated very well, and though slow, it killed Muledeer, and Black bear like the plague!
Thanks agian for the offer!
