Hi, I have a CVA Hunterbolt 50cal rifle. My breech plug stripped out and broke the musket nipple off in the breech plug. I went to Bass pro to buy replacement and all they had was the breech plug for 209 primers so I asked salesman and he said I could go ahead and change with no problems so I bought one. When I got home I installed it in gun and it is a little longer with a few threads showing but it worked fine, I set off some 209 primers without any problems. But, I read the instructions and it says you can't just change the breech plug to another type of primer system, now I'm concerned if this is safe or not. I have been trying to get through to CVA but not able to stay on phone long enough to get an answer. Anyone heard of doing this sucessfully ? | ||
