I shot a nice size doe yesderday with my savage a 250 hornday xtp at right around 2000 fps.

Apox. 115 yards DRT

A nice still hunt in a snow storm found her feeding on acorns. On a fairly open oak ridge.

P-Dog, like you, I shoot a Savage ML as well and got a doe yesterday. I use 300 grain Barnes Expander MZ sabots. It happens that was the first projectile I tried, they shoot plenty good, and I just keep using them. Probably way beyond necessary on 125 pound deer, but I see no reason to change.

Very nice! I took my CVA Accura on a guided hunt two weekends ago and in the middle of the hunt found that my scope base and rings had came loose.

I shoot 55.2 grains of vit N120 behind a 295 grain barnes ez, the blue tipped ones with a flat base. I have shot 9 deer so far this year, and none have gone over 50 yds. In fact 4 fell dead right there and those were heart lung shots. I kill @ least 10 deer a year with my savage. I love it, best ML out there.
