I just received a t/c renegade in .54 caliber that came without a ramrod. I wanted to know where can i get one and what type is best. By that i mean what manufacturer to choose and what materials should the rod be made of . Thanks Tanoose

Most use a 'glass range rod and a wooden rod for show. I bought a nice hickory rod use use and to leave on the rifle.
The wooden rods are good, if they are made properly. The end of the grain should not show on the edge of the rod and it should have been soaked in coal oil, I believe.
You can find good equipment at http://www.trackofthewolf.com/

http://www.cainsoutdoor.com/ is another good place with a great selection of ramrods. Go to products near the page bottom. Look for Super Rods - Hunter. Nice rods made of Delrin and they can fit about any rifle.

You can also get an original to replace it from T/C. They are easy to deal with and seem to be good people. derf

I used to have several, most for show, but now have only one, it is Fglass w/plastic coating, I can't break it and it won't jam. I also don't remember where I got it. Not that it would make a difference, due to age of equipment. Try October Country, CdA, Idaho.

On the web, just can't copy the addy. www.octobercountry.com try that.

Good Shooting!

The big advantage to the type of ramrod 8mm uses is that you get threads on both ends, which allows a T-handle to be used when pulling a ball or stuck patch.
Some use a 'glass rod for the range and keep a wooden rod for show.
