Today was my first time hunting with a ML and I lucked out and got one. Nothing exciting; a 100# doe, but its just as special as my first bow or rifle kill. Even better since I was using iron sights.

Good hunting!

Adam

Oh yes it WAS special. You'll never, ever again kill a "first one". Congratulations.

In 1973, I decided to build my own muzzleloader (Instead of buying the cheap Italian and Spanish caplocks that Woolco was selling for $39). I built a .45 flintlock from scratch and used a round ball and patch with open sights. I had NEVER killed a deer before and actually never seen one while hunting, but a 110# doe stepped out with a fawn at 125 paces and God rewards fools and hunters sometimes. I've shot a ton of deer since then, but she'll always be the first one I think about. Every detail is still special all these years ago.

I hope your memories remain just that special.

Good stuff Adam, a 100 lb doe is a fatty around Georgia. My partner calls 'em "big old 'Barbara Striesand' nose having bitches" I like it...

Congrats!
