I am going to Alaska for a moose hunt this Fall. Can I pack Pyrodex pellets in my luggage along with my bullets?

I would not advise even trying. It is readily purchased in Anchorage and other cities. I believe pyrodex (or any powder product) in an uncontained case is considered a Haz Mat item and not transportable on passenger aircraft. Jim

The answer is absolutely not! Violation of several laws. As others said above you can readily buy it once you hit Anchorage. In fact can call ahead of time to one of the shops and make arrangements if you feel the need. Really isn't needed but a lot depends on how tight a schedule you are running. Even the Super type grocery/value stores carry firearms and ammo etc. Very civilized! Love the state. If you have questions about where to go, overnight, etc pm me and we can discuss your options.
