My son and I each have a Knight American. We can not find a load that will group. Anywhere from 6 inches to two feet at 100 yards. We have tried every combination. Sabots, Power Belts, Hornady Sabots and the only thing that we can get a three group is using 80 grains of triple 7 and Hornady Great Plains Bullets in 385 grain. We have used Pyrodex, triple 7 and APP.
Have any of you had this problem or is it just the guns?

send it to knight and have them inspect it it may be faulty gunsmithing of the rifling on there part.

I can’t say since they changed hands a few years ago, but my Knights all shoot well. I don’t shoot over 80 grains in my Predator with sabots and 240 grain Hornady XTP bullets or the groups go to hell. With 80 grains of RS in the Predator I can get 3 inches at 100 yards off a bench with open sights.

If you want to shoot more powder get some of the Thompson Center Mag sabots with 240 grain XTP they come 30 to a pack and shoot great out of my Thompson Center Encore 50 cal 3 inches with 100grs RS.

There was a man at the shooting range the other day using 150 grains of 777 (three pellets) at 100 yards he took a shot adjusted his sight took another shot adjusted his sight after about 25 shots he went back to the 25 yard range re-sighted in and called it good. He told me that he bought his new CVA (Looks like a Encore) to hunt deer at 250 yards. I wished him luck and went home.

I have been told that sabots are heat sensitive and you have to wait for the barrel to cool down or you will never get a good group.

I have a Knight American w/ the Disc Extreme Kit that will stack them at 100. My best load so far has been 2 777 pellets and a 250 SST from a clean bbl.

It even shot farely well w/ percusion caps and the cheap all lead 260 grain HP sabots that Knight sells loaded w/ 2 Pyro pellets (2.5-3" at 100 but, plenty good for hunting out to 150).

Good Luck

Try giving them a good scrubbing with a solvent that will disolve plastic. Sabots can fill up the rifling pretty quick if youre just using BP solvents or soapy water. Ive never seen a Knight rifle that wouldnt group under an inch with the right loads (and a good shooter)

I use the same load as you do out of my Knight USAK and I can get about 1 1/2" group out to 100yrds, and have seen them punch the same hole at that distance. My knight loves the 250 SST and 2 pellets of 777

I doubt there is a problem with the rifle.
This is what I would do...
1)Take the gun completly apart clean it like it's never been cleaned before. Reassemble and make sure every screw and bolt is tight. Next
fire a cap in the barrel, then swab with a spit patch.
2)Load and fire 3 shots at 25 yds. Swab after every shot with a spit patch. Regardless of what bullet your using your group should be less that 1 inch, and you should be able to find a bullet/powder combo that will give you one hole accuracy.
3) Repeat at 50 yds. With open sights your group will grow a little that is to be expected.
Remember 100 yds with open sights is pretty tough for those who haven shot much and is not a good distance to judge accuracy until you have.
