blacktailer, I have been using the powerbelts in my Lyman great plains rifle and it shoots great..this rifle is a flintlock ignition...At fifty yards I can from a rest hit a oneinch bull have done this for the past two years...Last year I made my longest shot at 70yds hit a big doe and she fell over backwards and slid down the mountain...last Saturday my son got his buck with a 240gr powerbelt and took out the lungs low and left a great trail of blood...I shoot the 295 gr bullet...I prefer lung hunt to smashing shoulders when possible...Loading you do not have to force it down the barrel nor do you need a ball starter...Upon meeting the powder chairge you just gently seat the bullet and not jam it down...I shoot 90gr of 3F and 4F for frizzen and German adn English flints.. I am sold on the powerbelt bullets and they can be pulled with out a problem also.... Mike

I have killed seven or eight deer with them in the last three years..... I love them. They are very accurate in My CVA. I get one big hole at about 70 yards. I have never had a deer run more than about 30 yards when hit. The doe and small bucks just take a step or two and fall over. Urdubob

Have used the 245gr Aero tip Power Belts in my 209x50mag Encore with 3-50gr pyrodex pellets. Hit a cow elk in the neck and made a 3 inch mess of its neck bone. I led it to far and that is were it hit.

I don't know if I am in the minority but I like the 348 grain Powerbelts. My hunting pal and I both shot pretty good bucks with the 295 grain powerbelts two years ago and although the deer did not move but 10 yds (mine was shot50 yds away both shot from tree stands) in neither case did the bullets exit but remained under the skin on the far side of the animal. If I remember correctly I shot mine through the near shoulder and it angled down and back. They seem to be more lethal than my 30-06 when you think that a buck usually runs no matter how well hit, and neither of these bucks ran. I do not like the no pass through business however. I have shot two deer with the 348 grain powerbelts and they went through in both cases and killed just as fast. In a small button buck the down angle resulted in smashing the leg bone on the way out. In my old CVA sidelock both the 295 and 348 bullets with 90 grains of pyrodex shoot into a single big hole at at 50 yds. I am working on getting a new Encore that I just bought shooting with powerbelts and 777, this is another story in itself. Jimmyp
