This is my fifth deer taken with my .54 GPR and my first buck. 7 pointer taken off hand at 60 yds. I'd seen him a few days earlier, but wasn't able to establish his legal status due to heavy cover. He was not as lucky on our second encounter. Shot a doe with the same rifle a few days earlier. Darn this flintrock stuff is fun!!!

Larry, nice gun and nice pics! I'm seriously thinking about getting me a flinter in another year. Wish I could get a drop in smothbore barrel for a 54 cal GPR, I could hunt squirrels and deer with it.

Thanks guys, I want to get a fusil de chasse to hunt squirrels, turkey, and possibly deer if I can get it to do well with round patched balls.

Have to say though that a drop in smoothbore barrel, I'd pick a .62 would be a great option in a GPR.
