Can anyone give me any advise on a bullet for this rifle that will hold good groups at 100 yards and work well for whitetail. I have just gotten the gun and the power belts and 777 just don't seem to get it done on the range. I will not take it into the woods if I can't get it down to 2" or less at 100 yards. HELP

It may not be the bullets It could be hinge pin is loose. MY Encore likes 100 gr. Pyrodex pellets with Hornady 250 gr. SST's My Encore hinge pin was loose, I went to Bellum and got an oversize pin and it shots 1 1/2" groups all day long at 100yd. Try the site below, this guy knows Encores.

I've had really good luck in my Encore with 130 grains of 777 (2 50s and a 30) and 260 grain Dead Centers from Cabelas via Precision Rifle. The shoot nice paper groups and have performed well on about half a dozen hogs, a deer, and a elk.

I have the encore with the walnut stock and the first thing I did for it was to adjust the trigger (changed the spring),put in an over sized hing pin and free float the forearm as best I could.
I shoot the 195 gr barnes for target and the 200 gr sw or sst's for hunting with 105 to 115 grs pyro-select.
At 100 yds it shoots as good as my savages.

I'm also using the dead center precision rifle 260 grain sabots. I'm using 100 grains of American Pioneer powder FFG. These bullets were giving me groups of 1-1.5 inch and they are extremely easy to load. Check them out at www.prbullet.com

200 grain Shockwaves and 250 grain SST's shoot great out my Encore. 150 grains of Pyrodex Pellets seems to be the right amount of powder.
