I have killed a lot of Whitetails with 80grs of RS and a 54cal round ball, or a sabot with 240gr Nosler or Hornady XTP bullets. I went to the XTP bullets because they didnt deform while loading. I have a Lyman Great Plaines rifle in 54 that loves 100grs of RS and a 15 thousands patch. I took it muzzle loading season but didnt get a shot.

Your load with 90grs at the distance you are describing should make a excellent load. Try it for accuracy with different patch thickness it takes time to work up an accurate load.

What brand of cap lock are you using?

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
