Just returned from the range. A gentleman there highly recommended 150gr Shocky Gold and 223 gr PB in an Omega. Has anyone any experience with this load? Do you think it is too light for deer out to 150yds? Since this powder is supposed to burn really, really clean, has anyone tried conventional sabot/slugs with it? Would the second shot be easier to load? I do prefer 300gr Hornadys for most of my shooting and hunting, but they are a bear to laod for the second shot plus extended time at the range. Thanks for your comments. | ||

The Omegas seem to like the 405s - followed by the 348 gr. best. I would try no heavier than 125 grains of Shockey powder with your bullets. With the bullets I mentioned above, 90-110 is more than enough Shockeys.
