Few days ago, I shot some poor Colt replica revolver which brought memories for 1858 Remington replica I had 30 years ago or so. So now, I am thinking about buying one. I really don't need it, I like to shoot it and I like this revolver at all. Of course, if possible, I would like to have original one in great condition. But it will be unavailable or scary expensive. So what Remington pattern revolver replica is best today on the market? I am thinking of Pedersoli custom model. But it is what I know hard chromed and not black and I am not sure I can live with that. Any other high end replica options out there? Jiri

Uberti makes a nice one + if so interested, you can get a replacement cylinder to shoot 45 LC. (moderate loading, of course.) I see a lot of the guys on the Uberti forum have done so.

The Pedersoli would be very hard to top. I have had Piettas and Ubertis and prefer the Uberti after comparing both to an original. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

Update: Pedersoli now up to 5 months delivery time, no way to shoot it or even just look at it prior to order. Jiri

Jiri, if you find one you like and wish to hunt with it, the "Kaido" bullet mold is a good choice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVmYRePzoOQ There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author
