Hey Stumpjumper,

You mentioned bp revolvers. Revolvers fascinate me(as you can tell by my username). What kind of bp revolvers do you have. I have a percution mimick of a 1873 peacemaker. I also plan on getting a clone of a 1847 Walker this year.

OK, I'll make up a target to print out on a printer and we can get started. I'll get it done by Wednesday, so if you want to be in, might as well post it here and I'll either email the target to all interested or post a link to it.

Again, is everyone happy with the rules? --

Black powder only

Open sights only

Distance 75 yards (I'm thinking about making it 50 instead, what are thoughts on that?)

I thought up a target design but sorry I won't spill the beans on what it looks like.

You can print out as many you want to practice with, but you have to take one target and decide it is the one to be scored before you start shooting at it. Sign it and date it, you don't need to have anyone else witness anything, etc. Your word is sufficient. Pick any caliber you want, they all get scored the same unless someone really really convinces me a 58 has some advantage over a 36, or the other way around. I'm planning on using a 50 caliber.

After you have shot your target either scan it (preferable) or fax it to me (PM for fax #) and we'll decide the winners.

So if you have said you're interested I'll count you as in, and if you haven't posted yet do so by wednesday!

Mark

Sounds good to me.

My apologies for not getting the target done today, I had to take a dog to the vet yesterday and he had to get put to sleep so after I took him back to my parents house and buried him it kinda took up the spare time, and I spent today playing catch up. I'll get my act together by the weekend I promise guys

Mark,

When do we have to have these shot by? Or, rather, to you by?

Friday, October 8. I have a lot of stuff going on later on in the month and it will get rather crazy for me. I think 3 days after the end date to fax or scan will be enough?

Hey congrats! Good size for a baby too, until he starts eating!

I'll bring this to the top again and lets get it going, is everyone happy with 75 yards, black powder only and open sights?

To everyone, thanks for being so patient! Here is the target I made up. It is a variation of the old X on a board, with the addition of scoring rings. If anyone notices a problem with it, get back to me ASAP (like tomorrow morning at the latest) otherwise this is it.

I received an email asking since it is open sights that it be 50 yards to accomodate the shooters with bad eyes, which is a good point so 50 yards it is.

Regarding prizes, the winner receives worldwide recognition, how cool is that! In addition, everyone who enters (or the first 8 targets I get, because that is all I have!) will receive an Accurate reloading patch, like what you see on the top of the page.

For a deadline, how about October 5? That will give everyone 2 weekends.

Again, hopefully for the last time, the rules-

Black powder only, 50 yards, open sights only.

Shoot as many practice targets as you want, but you must decide when to shoot the one for score BEFORE you shoot it.

6 shots to keep it interesting.

When finished, scan or take a picture of the target with your name and date written on it and email it to me. If you can't do that send me a PM and I'll give you a fax number. You may have to copy the target then fax it.

Remember, this is supposed to be fun!

Mark

Wheelgunner.

Sorry for not replying sooner, but I musta overlooked this thread. The currant Black Powder revolvers that I have are:

One Dixie LeMat Confederate revolver, Cavalry. .44 cal. & 20 ga.

Plus I have Two,Navy Arms Model 60's, Army. .44 cal.

I know that these next 2 aren't revolvers, but anyway,I also have 2 Kentucky Style .45's in flint lock that I built. The first one I built when I was 13 years old out of spare parts that was laying around my dads shop. I made this pistol using a lock from a flintlock rifle, so its a bit balky , but works like a champ.
