How does a package from overseas that arrives with a bill make America great again?

LongDistanceOperatorHow does a package from overseas that arrives with a bill make America great again?
There is a package out for delivery that is arriving with a bill. The dude in Japan didn’t pay the tariff like president shit for brains said he would, so how does a tax help the country. Also, the packages from Slovenia and Germany are just on hold. Those countries and many others are not shipping anything to America. The shippers do not have space to store EVERYTHING while waiting for recipients to show up with a checkbook (among other issues). On another forum, I saw people metaphorically licking trump’s balls over this. I did not post in that thread. It was a general “trump is a genius. Why can’t everyone else lick his balls?” type of thread. What a bunch of fucking idiots.

ANTELOPEDUNDEEThe tax/surcharge goes to the Guvmint, but who knows where it's used after that.
Give me a home where the buffalo roam and I'll show you a house full of buffalo shit.

LongDistanceOperatorI called Congress and got Speakwr Johnson’s secretary. I asked if the speaker could call Japan and ask if they got the message that they were supposed to pay the tariff. She said she would relay the message and asked if there was anything else. I said to tell the speaker to pull his head out of his ass. She said she would tell him, but seemed a bit annoyed.

The idea is to get Americans to start doing work that only pays enough for a peasant in China.
Or barely enough for two families of Mexicans in one rental house.
Maybe see how big an income gap we'll accommodate.
Or is offshoring getting to be too risky for American capital?

M.ShyAny package over €45 shipped to EU, you gotta pay customs and country’s VAT
When you ship let’s say trophies from Africa, you gotta pay VAT on whole cost of hunting trip on top
Just my 2 cents
Never been lost, just confused here and there for month or two

I wrote my masters thesis on the horror of offshoring destroying the future of everyone in labor. My profs wanted to publish it. I am from a red state and only posted that gibberish for a grade. I refused to be posted, even if it boosted my orchid id count.

I wrote a project for MSEE, digital filters applied to stock prices. A useless exercise for the most part.
Predicting the future from the past assumes no changes in structure or circumstances. Unlikely..

How is putting an $80 surcharge on a $200 package doing something about it? I bet there are tons of U. S. companies willing to supply that same item for $240.

Trump is increasing the income gap, that is not the kind of action that we need. Same goes for the deficit. In other words, Trump's policies suck and are taking us in the wrong direction.

ANTELOPEDUNDEEAs good a thread as any.
If you were a foreign country President, Premier or whatever WHY would you negotiate with the trump administration over tariffs until SCOTUS would affirm that he has the authority to impose them?
