It would be interesting to see corroboration of these numbers.

US govt figures show that there were 365,000 non citizens receiving social security in 2021 not 270K. As I understand it, and I could be wrong, you can only get SS if you are a lawfully present non citizen.

I can’t find any supporting evidence on the 2 mill plus but I’m in the middle of something and haven’t got time to have a through look.

Anyone got any corroboration on these numbers, or is this just another publicity stunt using inaccurate information?

"Resident alien" is a catagory established by Congress to mean those who qualify for and obtain legal residency. They are given a "green card." Resident aliens pay taxes, including SS withholdings, and have most of the rights of citizens, except they can't vote. They are legal by definition.

My wife held a green card for years and didn't become a citizen because her mother didn't want her to lose her listing in the koseki tohon, the official government registry of Japanese citizens. My wife did become a citizen almost twenty years ago--mainly so she could vote.

She is now worried that Trump may try to deport her someday because she's not a native-born American.
