The Fed citing economic growing risk maintains interest rates
Growing risk created entirely by an Executive assuming unilateral power the Constitution does not give him.

“We think right now the appropriate thing to do is to wait and see how things evolve,” Powell said. “There’s so much uncertainty.”

Just before the Fed released its statement, Trump indicated he would not back down from his administration's current 145% tariff duties on China.

Powell said in his post-statement comments that inflation sparked by the tariffs could either end up being short-lived or long-lasting, depending on how high the tariffs get and how long they are in effect.

Rates were held awfully low for a long time. Last time we bought a house mortgage rates were 6 percent and up. I was starting a business so the bank wanted 8 percent. We bought from a private seller who was happy with 6 and change.

The artificially low rates enabled some downright silly increases in house prices...

I agree interest rates were artificially, too low.

I also know the Fed Chair said this today,
“We think right now the appropriate thing to do is to wait and see how things evolve,” Powell said. “There’s so much uncertainty.”

Somebody had a nice big glass of Kool-aid this morning.

Powell said more than that Princess, here is a bit more:

“The labor market is sold, inflation is low. We can afford to be patient as things unfold,” he said, following the announcement. “There’s no real cost to our waiting at this point.”

“There’s a great deal of uncertainty about … where tariff policies are going to settle out and also, when they do settle out, what will be the implications for the economy, for growth and for employment,” the Fed chief added.

Thankfully the Fed is not under Trump's control, although he wants it to be.

All he can do is lie and spin and run his mouth.

is there a POINT? don't you know the basics of risk management? a RISK has NOT happened, an issue has -- not like you are a lawyer or anything, that knows a thing or 10,000,000 about caveats

oh, btw, inflation, a fact, is lower than anytime during the rate cuts of '24 --

The point is President Trump’s economic policy has put inflation and unemployment in play that has spiked the Fed from lowering rates.

I figure a man w your background did not need it spelled out for you.

yeah.. TRUMP has the last 48 months of record inflation in your life time -- and the second most in anyone alive today's life time -- that was TRUMP wasn't it?

there's battles you should choose not to engage with - here's your sign --

why didn't the Fed lower interest rates at 4 and 5 % per month prior to 2024? hmmm? most intelligent persons engage the brain before speaking/typing --

even shane gillis would feel a little dirty about this exchange

Look over there! It's a squirrel!

Sorry Honey, today's Fed moves regarding interest rates are directly tied to that orange turd's policies. Just ask Powell. Whoops, no need, he has told us his rational.

But there you are, drinking that Kool-Aid, just like a good cult member tu2

you are confusing rationale for private banks to keep making money with criticism -

if the feds' rates criticized a POTUS, go look what happened in YoOL 2000, where the fed SPANKED, according to your measure, Bill Clinton

Trumptard logic at its finest cuckoo

You have seen the quotes, in plain English, the Fed has most certainly stated that the reason for keeping rates constant is the tariff policy of the orange turd.

Yet you continue on, removing all doubt that you are anything but a cult member.
