Scott KingFormer French colony, I think I understand there to be 1500 French soldiers already there.
Not a United States concern.
Egypt is nearby, Kenya is less than 2500miles away.
Not a United States concern.

crbutlerNot our monkey, not our circus.
I'm kind of surprised we have 2000 troops there still.
Sounds like the Niger army is willing to overthrow the coup. That's their job, not ours.
BF, Mali, ? want to support the junta? Not exactly places capable of projecting power.
If they have a localized war, it will be prolonged and bloody. If the western powers get involved, it will be short, but probably also pretty bloody.
More likely it will be a quick displacement of the junta, and then the usual African prolonged civil guerrilla war.

Sure Saeed, and the Russians and the Chinese are leading the way when it comes to world peace. As long as you are making good money off of them.

Russians and Chinese are there too.
They just following in your footsteps
Whatever you need to tell yourself to justify doing business with them.
The tune may soon change though. I see your leader MBS is now holding his hand out asking for our nuclear energy technology. I hope to hell we hold his feet to the fire before giving that beggar(and murderer) anything he wants.
That ought to be fun to watch. You folks can't run a ferris wheel reliably and you want nuclear power? That is a great joke!
On the bright side, at least if you do have a nuclear accident it will be in a place that is practically uninhabitable anyway.

Africans are their own worst enemies.
