Since, the GOP minority prevented the Bill which granted the authority to the President to close the Border from getting a vote in the House.

https://www.reuters.com/world/...-his-own-2024-04-09/

The only reason the bi-partisan border bill did not get a vote on the House is bc it would have passed. This would have allowed President Biden to have signed the bill. The MAGA, Christian Nationalists could not have that for election purposes.

There is no way in hell the bill as written should have got a vote.
Appointees having the right to give or deny asylum should have been a non starter.
Or do you think the law should only apply to your bias?
There was a Cat trained diesel mechanic from SA that came over and worked on a farm visa for a big custom farmwork outfit. After the first year, he was telling his father how much he liked it here. His father owns a farm outside Pretoria. His father told him to move here, as the future was dim for him in SA. He came back for the last 3 years, and put all his earnings to an immigration lawyer. Niki wrote and said his lawyer told him to save his money, the way things are, he will never get his green card to stay. He's not coming back this year to work. So despite having a backing from his employer, and a lawyer he gets fucked over by illegals running the border.

You sure he is not trying to close the border at the north of Texas? As long as immigrants fill up Texas, and don't bother the liberal elites in the Northeast and Northwest, progressives are very happy with tens of millions of immigrants per year.

Businesses love immigration:; the typical immigrant wants to work. When they do work they work "off the books", so businesses don't pay worker compensation, income tax, etc. Immigrants will do the same job as citizens for less. So it is a win/win for business. Cheap labor, more profit.

Rich, woke, liberals love the cheap prices they pay immigrants for lawn work, construction, manual labor. Without cheap immigrant labor, things would get expensive for the top 10%.

Progressive claim to hate exploitation, but their values are for other people. When it comes to money, they exploit with the best.

It should have been called for a vote. It was viable, past the Senate with 22 Republicans, and was backed by the Border Patrol.

You are not going to get a better deal.

My opinion is worth the exact same amount as yours.

Yeah, makes perfect sense. We had a chance to get half a loaf but instead of taking that opportunity and then working on getting the second half, we let the Orange Jesus convince us that no loaf was better than half a loaf. Sounds like the Trumplicans are waiting on another loaves and fishes miracle from their new savior.

There would not have been a second half a loaf jines. Foolish to believe that.
Brownsville had a disaster declaration last spring due to such large numbers of migrants. The heavy crossing areas shifted. Now NM and Arizona are taking the increase according to BP.

The House could have modified the bill and sent it back to the Senate, pass their own bill. Nope, the response is the same do nothing.

It is well established the bill did not get a vote not for Back40 objections, but the political whim of President Trump and his campaign strategy.

It was and is a good bill.

Some people see benefits to keeping the status quo.

You just need to ask yourself why that is.

The bill was a joke. 8500 immigrants a day, with more allowed, strictly on Biden's discretion. Being completely honest, can you agree that 3.1 million a year, is completely ridiculous?

The additional BP agents were ONLY being added to allow more processing. The BP liked the bill because of the funding/pay raises.

The immigration judges, you can figure that one out for yourself.

And I agree, it should have gone to a vote, but it didn't.

So, being consistent, shouldn't Schumer allow for an impeachment vote on Mayorkas?

"Consistency...The hobgoblin of the Democrats."

No one is shutting down all migration from the South.

Your position is dead on arrival. The Bill would have given the President legislative authority to close the Border.

The Bill had passed the Senate with 22 GOP votes with direct negotiation with the Administration. It would have been signed.

The GOP House apologist are the jokes.

The only reason it was not given a vote in the House was to deny President Biden a chance to sign it for campaign reasons.

You're joking right? I suggest you dig a little deeper as to what the costs are for the unfettered illegal immigration.

This Newsweek article, paints a very different picture as do many other articles and studies.

Even a report by the GAO (albiet 1995) reports that illegal immigration is a net burden to the taxpayers and government.

Not to mention all the other issues from not having a "merit based" immigration system, like almost every other developed country does.

Illegal immigration costs

Well, why don't you just tell us about the "destruction" and how it is on the "front line?" You've previously lied about young women being run off the road and attacked by cartel members near your ranch. Is that imaginary shit what we're going to talk about again?

As for me living an "isolated" life....I live in a city where over 40% of the population is Hispanic and significant percentage of that population (about 300,000) is undocumented. I don't see any "destruction" here as a result of that...nor does it feel like I live on a "front line." I see people working and trying to make a better life for themselves and their families.

Go look in the mirror MFer and see what is wrong with the USA.

I do hunt down there…but the ranch is a working cattle ranch.

The buildings are all broken into. There is trash and human shit in piles behind the barns and it is not unheard of to just have human shit in the floor of the tack rooms, storage rooms and camp houses. Not that we leave anything there anymore because it is stolen or plundered. The pipes from the wells get cut so they get drinking water…sometimes if a spigot is near. We have shut many of them off.

You don’t dare let your wife or kid ride on cattle gatherings or hunt out of sight because they WILL encounter illegals. Some willing to do harm to the vulnerable.

And like I said MFer…you want to meet some folks who have had cartel encounters along TX-3167…come to El Sauz…I will introduce you to some.

But you won’t. You will drive home to your upscale neighborhood that “your” Mexicans keep manicured and turn a blind eye to the rural areas outside of DFW. You don’t even have the guts to tell us what your Texan Hispanic fishing guide and lifelong Brownsville area family has to say.

You are a joke!

Last week was on three large ranches on border for a work thing. The problems are pretty real. Can debate how to solve them but its legit. OH and by the way one of the ranches was owned by Mexicans.

If you want to see the destruction, meet me at El Sauz some weekend and I will show you some. Then we can drive into Rio Grande City for lunch and I will introduce you to some folks terrorized along TX-3167.

Lie??? You drive into your affluent gaited community daily that never changes and lie to yourself that nothing untoward is happening while the rest of us Texans try to cope with the destruction dealt to us by a f***ing Democrat in the Oval Office. Destruction that you yourself support.

Lol. I don't live in a gated community you asshat. And, I doubt I need lectures about being an elitist from you....as previously noted, you're the one sporting the hunting ranch down in south Texas.

So, what "destruction" are we talking about? Be specific about this "destruction."

And, more imaginary friends who have been "Terrorized?" Like those girls you lied about who got run off the road by cartel members?

You're full of shit, Lane.

Poop and trash on your hunting enclave is the "destruction" you've been quacking about all this time? rotflmo

And truly...Hector is a good guy and a great guide but his opinion on illegal immigration doesn't really matter to me. And, he is not nearly as nutty about it as you are. Which is interesting since he lives in the "Destruction" zone you keep yapping about.

The fact of the matter is that you are a liar and a racist piece of shit, Lane. You tell me I am an elitist but I'm willing to bet you live in a nicer house than I do and I sure don't own a ranch down in south Texas.

By the way, got any workers on that ranch? Locals? Have you checked their immigration status?

Don't lie now. Wink

By the way, since you brought it up. Tell us all about all the instances where "harm to the vulnerable" has been done by immigrants in your "destruction" zone. Be specific....and don't tell us the lie about cartel members running girls off the road again.

-Every damn thing is your own fault if you are any good.

I appreciate the source may not be so good, but if this article has any truth to it there is a serious problem there.

Mike, why do you think it's funny to have to clean peoples shit and piss out of their sheds and garages? It happens up here on the north border, and no-one I have talked to seem to think it's as funny as you do. Maybe you have never had to do it, or it would be less a laugh. Or to have to get a new garage or shed built because illegals built a fire on the wood floor and burned it down with everything stored inside. Thats a hoot too, huh Mike? Easy to laugh about other peoples problems, not of their doings?

As long as lil Mikey gets his lawn maintenance done cheaply, his maids and his car washed.....he really doesn't care.....

Ask him how he feels about illegals being counted in the census??? He's all for that "any means to an end" democrat stuff.....

Illegals aren't driving lawyers wages down, he's cool!

You know they make an ignore button. I put Mike on it. His sole purpose is to provoke and antagonize. I looked back 7 or 8 pages of his posts and all in the political forum. Not a single hunting or shooting related post. Obvious troll.

Let him entertain himself in another sandbox.
