This analogy explains a lot.

In order to appreciate this, you gotta appreciate such things as satire and irony.

Conservative men just can't abide the thought of a woman sending them shopping.

This guy explains it all:

Well, I voted for Hailey and will not vote for Harris.

Your point is insulting.

I cannot vote for Harris due to policy reasons as well as her lack of honesty and her somewhat questionable history.

You are absolutely correct that Trump is horrible as far as personal attributes and I’m not supporting him either, but say however much it’s false equivalence, I don’t buy it. Both are bad choices. Once you see that, you are purely arguing which is worse. I’m not going to tell anyone which is worse, as your personal morality makes that call.

Again, it has come to picking the lesser of two evils again.

It puts a man like myself in a tough position, I refuse to defend or explain the antics of either candidate to my daughter. I expect and instruct my daughter to seek out the opposite of trumps and Harris's behavior. I should tell her I want either for President? Not for any reason.

No. Your personal thoughts are if you want to say one or the other is worse and you support the other.

I’ve said before I’m not supporting either of the two.

But you claiming Harris is better, or Lane claiming trump is the lesser evil is up to you and your own beliefs.

I’m not going to say either is totally off base as long as they acknowledge it’s a choice between bad options. Lane at least admits that Trump has significant faults… I’ve yet to hear the lefties admit Harris has any faults or issues.

I just don't get it. I don't understand how you folks put Trump and Harris, and what they represent, on the same scale.

I mean on a scale of good -- evil. Scott, for one, measures that in behavior.

You won't see Harris simulating a blow job on a microphone. How do you explain that to kids?

And way beyond behavior there's the vision or goals for the country.

I just don't see a parallel, not even close, with project 2025. Same with the broligarchs. The left has wealthy donors too but not comparable with Musk, for example, on the end justifies the means scale.

https://www.opensecrets.org/el...s?cycle=2024&view=fc

https://www.yahoo.com/tech/10-...mcoWOI08wLd0Boh2xRrM

Microsoft founder and ex-CEO Bill Gates has made one major donation this election cycle: a $50 million contribution to Vice President Kamala Harris.

The donation, which was meant to be private, was first reported by the New York Times last month. The money went to Future Forward, the main outside fund-raising group supporting Harris, through its nonprofit arm, Future Forward USA Action, which doesn’t disclose its donors.

Gates, who co-founded the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and has a net worth of $103 billion, told the Times in a statement that he supports candidates “who demonstrate a clear commitment to improving health care, reducing poverty and fighting climate change in the U.S. and around the world.”

https://www.politico.com/news/...-elon-wants-00186881

What Elon Musk wants from Washington
Trump’s most powerful backer has $260 billion, wildly unpredictable politics and clear designs on Washington. Here’s what the capital could be in for.

==============================================

Basically, Musk has some good ideas, but overall he wants to turn the Govt into a money making machine for himself and other Bros, like none other. The path to do that is make Govt totally dependent on his technology as the exclusive source.

Each candidate has explained in some detail why the opposing candidate is a bad choice. Believe them both, it's the truth.

What? You don’t favour rapey treasonous pathological liars and grifting convicted felons for your Commander in Chief and head of state? Confused
I’d say your membership in this fraternity is seriously at risk, sir.

He mostly accused, and in doing so explained himself.

Trump's explanations leave something to be desired, no kidding. An unstable dotard.

Harris seems at best a regional politician, but has a history of taking advice, a cause for a little optimism.

Well, that's revealing.

Good grief man. I haven't seen such an underestimation and an overestimation, respectively, in the same sentence before as I recall.

Nor have I seen a false equivalence quite so gross recently.

Wow, you are getting bonus points for a twofer. Wink

I have always figured McCain would have been a great POTUS, but somehow he made a yuge mistake selecting Palin as VP mate. That was bad. I don't know if he followed advice or made the decision himself, but either way he should have known better.

Big Grin

Not trolling maybe. But definitely a line in the water looking for a bite.

You left that ambiguous. I take it you think Palin more capable?

Oh, that's almost painful. Wink

I used the word "respectively" to indicate the same order, of the subject, as you presented is followed in my response. It makes for shorter paragraphs.

But it didn't work.

Anyway, I edited my post which should clarify.

Yeah, just trying to introduce a bit of light hearted banter at this stage.

The die is cast and no amount of foot stomping or whooping is going to make a difference now.

I have always thought that your nation would have been in a different position now, if McCain had of been elected.

Me too.

Thanks for playing along.

We can only wish for the best, which IMO a McCain type of republican would be a blessing.

How were we to know that Romney and Bush were the archetypes to measure by?

Trump taught us a lot.
